SubSwap is a platform that connects Halifax university students for sublease listings and roommate matching. We are a communication tool — we do not own, manage, or guarantee any housing listed on the platform, and we are not a party to any rental or housing agreement made between users.
To use SubSwap you must:
We reserve the right to verify your student status and terminate accounts that do not meet these requirements.
You are responsible for keeping your account secure. Do not share your password with anyone. You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at hello@subswap.ca.
You agree not to use SubSwap to:
Violations may result in immediate account suspension or termination.
If you post a sublease listing you confirm that:
Important: SubSwap is not responsible for the accuracy of listings, the condition of properties, or the outcome of any housing arrangement. Always verify a listing in person before signing any agreement or exchanging money.
SubSwap connects users but is not responsible for the content of messages exchanged between users. Conversations that involve harassment, threats, or illegal activity should be reported to us at hello@subswap.ca.
SubSwap facilitates connections between students — we are not a real estate agent, property manager, or guarantor. We are not liable for:
Use common sense: meet in public first, never send money before seeing a unit in person, and always have a written agreement.
You own the content you post (photos, bio, listing info). By posting it, you give SubSwap a licence to display it to other users within the platform. We do not claim ownership of your content and will not use it outside the platform without your permission.
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms or our community guidelines.
You can delete your account at any time from Account Settings. All your data will be permanently deleted. We may also suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, without notice in serious cases.
We may update these Terms of Service as the platform grows. We'll notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notice. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of Nova Scotia and Canada. Any disputes will be resolved under Nova Scotia jurisdiction.
